Welcome to Florist Wellington!
So why a website called Florist Wellington?
I know Florist Wellington a kinda strange name but… there’s method to my madness. I’ve had reason to send flowers to friends and family all over the world and in my own country and sometimes it’s been a very frustrating process.
I’ve used Interflora quite a few times and they’ve been great, I have found that I would much rather just deal directly with a florist in the town of where I want the flowers delivered.
Even if I place the order online I still like to be able to call the florist to make sure they received my order and that it would be delivered on time.
So here we are at Florist Wellington…
I’m not a florist myself . I’m just a normal consumer who wants to be able to find a great florist in the city that I choose.
So right here on Florist Wellington, I recommend the best florist that I have found in Wellington. Also, I’m going to provide you with a few tips on choosing a florist.
There are a million reasons why you would want (or need… gentlemen!) to send flowers and they are so often the perfect thing to send. I know that I LOVE it when I have a bouquet or basket delivered to me. Once I even had one of those chocolate arrangements sent to me from my girlfriends and it was delightful!
The occasions are endless: birthday, anniversary, graduation, congratulations, mothers day, valentines day, get-well, new baby, thank you, in sympathy or even just an ‘I’m thinking of you’.
And I love how the options of what you can send are endless too. (Oh, so is the price… but at least you don’t need to spend a fortune to send a little posy of simple flowers)
You can send the exciting one dozen red roses (I don’t know any girl that doesn’t go all giggly excited at those), tulips, divine lilies, carnations, orchids right through to simple daisies.
And they can be embellished with all sorts of things like, balloons, fruit, chocolate or wine. Or just fore go the flowers and send a gift basket or even a potted plant.
And if you’re on the other side of the world, it’s so easy to do online. Place your order and have them delivered the same day.
Finding the right Florist Wellington
The right flower arrangement can add color and life to any occasion. Finding the right florist may be a tedious task but I’m telling you, it’s all worth it in the end especially when you see that “my-jaw-has-dropped” look from your guests’ face.
Ask your family, co-workers or friends about a florist they have worked with in the past or if they can recommend somebody to do the job beautifully. If this is a huge event (say a wedding), talk to your event organizer, photographer or caterer if they have any suggestions.
Don’t hang back in visiting several different florists. You want as many choices as possible. You have to pay specific attention to the arrangements they have in the store. The first thing that you have to check is if the flowers are alive and vibrant. If the display flowers are old and wilted, imagine how they would look like in your event or party. Don’t forget to ask the florist Wellington for pictures of weddings or events they have previously done.
The internet is another great venue to look for a florist. Visit websites and take a look what they have to offer. Work with a florist who captures your personal style and tastes and he or she should be versatile and updated with the latest trends in flower arrangements. Whether you want a traditional, simple, elegant or edgy arrangement, your florist should be able to accommodate your needs.
Discuss your overall motif and the colors you envision. While a florist is considered as an expert, you should know early on how many of your ideas will be incorporated when choosing the flowers or if he or she wants complete control of the arrangement. A good florist should be comfortable with the client’s design ideas and preference and he or she should be able to integrate that in his or her own. At Florist Wellington we recommend you keep notes during the consultation and make sure you compare prices and design.
At Florist Wellington, we’re here to make sure you get the most beautiful arrangements and flowers, it’s our way of Delivering Your Thoughts.

Florist Wellington – The Language of Flowers
Florist Wellington Talks About The Language of Flowers
Here at Florist Wellington our motto is: Delivering Your Thoughts. We know that often our words aren’t enough to express the level of our feelings and we deliver countless bouquets of flowers with meanings attached to them. Most are saying ‘I love you’ but there are many others saying; “Get well” “Congratulations” “I’m thinking of you” “Thank you” and “I’m sorry”.
But in Victorian times there began a means of communication in which various flowers and floral arrangements were used to send coded messages, allowing individuals to express feelings which otherwise could not be spoken. This ‘languge of flowers’, sometimes called floriography, was most commonly communicated through Tussie-Mussies, an art which has a following today.
The term tussie-mussie comes from the reign of Queen Victoria (1837–1901), when the small bouquets became a popular fashion accessory. Typically, tussie-mussies include floral symbolism from the Language of Flowers, and therefore may be used to send a message to the recipient.
The nuances of the language are now mostly forgotten, but red roses still imply passionate, romantic love and pink roses a lesser affection; white roses suggest virtue and chastity and yellow roses still stand for friendship or devotion. Also commonly known meanings are sunflowers, which can indicate either haughtiness or respect – they were the favorite flower of St. Julie Billiart for this reason. Gerbera (daisy) means innocence or purity. The iris, being named for the messenger of the gods in Greek mythology, still represents the sending of a message. An Anemone signifies disappearance of hope. A pansy signifies thought, a daffodil regard, and a strand of ivy fidelity.
If there is a particular message that you want to portray with your flowers, Florist Wellington will help you send the right message.

Benefits of Buying Flowers Online
Buying flowers online
is much easier and more convenient and I’m telling you, it has never been this simple.
If you are like me who just doesn’t have the time to drive all the way to the store and pick up some flowers then you might agree when I say that online purchasing is the greatest innovation ever! All you need is an internet connection and a credit card and you’re ready to order. No more rushing to your local florist to buy some flowers.
What I love about buying flowers online is that you can order in advance. Whether you need one flower arrangement now or you have an upcoming event or party, you can request for instant delivery. Yes you can actually choose the delivery date! You can do this months ahead so you won’t actually cram on the day of the occasion.
With online purchasing, you don’t have to worry about pesky salespeople hovering behind you while throwing that pick-one-now look. You can spend as much time as you like looking for the perfect arrangement. The great thing about it is that you won’t have to keep asking how much an arrangement will cost. All the information you need is in the website. Yes you can choose whatever you like without being embarrassed that you can’t afford the most expensive flower in the store (I see the guys nodding!).
Aside from the convenience it offers, better selection is also one of the great benefits of buying flowers online. Most online stores that I know of offer a variety of flowers that you can never find in local stores because of limited space to hold all stocks. Web suppliers can provide you with the most extensive choices of flower stocks; yes even those that are not available locally in your area. You can take a look at pictures of different arrangements that you can choose from minus the pressure.
How to Find a Great Wedding Florist, and Save Money Doing it!
Choosing the wedding flowers can be one of the most enjoyable things in planning a wedding but at the same time it can be the most laborious part. There are thousands of flowers to choose from and there are millions of arrangements imaginable. This is where a wedding florist comes in the picture; he or she can transform your vision to life.
What if you don’t have much money to spare on a wedding florist, can you still have wonderful flower arrangements? Sure you can as long as you’re not planning to hire a florist to the celebrity!
The most important thing you can do is to shop around. I don’t see the reason why you wouldn’t! Ask your friends or family if they can recommend a good florist. You can also try looking over the internet. Ask for estimates to get the best deal. I didn’t say though that you have to settle for the cheapest one but whoever florist you choose, make sure he or she can give you your hard-earned money’s worth. Compare prices and designs; try to visit at least three before making a final decision.
As they always say, you always get what you pay for and this is same as true when it comes to hiring a good florist. You don’t want to hire an inexperienced florist with awful style and cheap tastes. You can find so many good florists that do not charge ridiculous prices because they don’t spend much on advertising.
Don’t worry because prices are never set in stone so feel free to HAGGLE and NEGOTIATE. Keep in mind that a good florist should know how to substitute flowers that are less expensive but somehow look identical to the ones you have your eyes on. Work with a florist that you feel comfortable with, someone who’s not going to roll his or her eyes whenever you want to suggest something. Remember, this is your wedding and you should be the number one person to please.
